Sooo.... what have I been doing lately??

Did a little work on the pond after taking a few loads of dirt out for the shop.
Before...
After.....
Had a little fun with the bobcat while I was at it.
All ready for the holes to be dug. I spent so much time grading the ground only to screw it up with all the dirt I pulled out of the holes. Oh well, live and learn I guess.
My neighbor helping out.
Digging these holes was actually pretty tough. The ground was nice and soft, but the thing didn't always dig a plumb hole. A couple guys from work helping out with setting the poles.
Yeah, they ended up straight and square. What a thought.
Apparently this is a lot of rebar for a small home shop. Ended up being 18" on center. The concrete guy recomended 4 feet on center, but I had to follow my engineered plans... whatever. It will be strong I guess.

This is from today. 17 yards of concrete and 5 guys running the wheel barrows and we were done in only a couple hours. The polisher this guy used was really cool. The slab looks wet. It really is that smooth. You can also see the corner that we were able to poor on the patio area. Ended up only wasting about a half yard. Thats only $50 down the drain... I'm sure if I had more time we could have put it to use too. Need to put the trusses up next and get started on the roof.
