The canoe has made some progress, but is currently on a bit of a back burner due to the time of year. The gunwales are on and sanded. The carrying yoke is shaped and the fiberglass is done. Things to do include: decks, bulkheads, seats, and a little epoxy before the varnish.
Most of the last month has been spent in the woods chasing the illusive buck. I picked up bow hunting again this year after a few years off due to school and work. It is not easy and I don't really know what I am doing. I did build this cool target though. I can shoot 20 yards in my back yard by shooting from the garage into the shop.
I wrapped my oars for the boat too. They had tape and it wasn't holding up. Of course I don't use them fishing which brings me to the latest and most important of my projects.
The duck hunting blind. The whole reason I have this boat. I picked up bimini top hardware from the boat store and some 3/4 EMT conduit and there you have it.
The frame for my duck blind. Gracie approves and has been sitting beside the boat whining until I let her sit in it while I work. I think she knows what is only a week and half away. Opening weekend!! Of course, I don't have a real job and I won't be out with all the other crazy people over the weekend. I'll wait until Monday when everyone else is back at their "real" jobs.
